While my dad is of the generation who can remember listening to the very first Super Bowl on the radio, Maggie, Burgin and I are of the microwave generation. In addition to expecting our popcorn to be cooked in minutes, we like problems resolved quickly. Covid, the bodies reaction to it and the lingering effects of it is nothing if not a wait and see and then wait and see some more.
We continue to feel God running after us each day; feeling His grace in every connection, contact and conversation. With the help of a dear friend and radiologist, we have been able to compare and better understand the x-rays and CT scans they have done of Mom’s lungs. In addition to our thrice daily calls with the nurses and PAs, we have spoken with other doctors. All of this information gathering is helping us think and pray through all scenarios.
Mom’s little body continues to fight. We are proud but not surprised by her stamina. They have come down on her sedation like they planned and her stats remain steady. Her white blood count came down again today. What we have learned, is that getting a patient with covid compliant with the vent requires heavy sedation. While they have tried to take her off quickly, it seems Mom is fairing better to have the reduction done slowly. Very slowly!!
Thank you for your continued love and support as we walk another day in the wait and see.
One day at a time, sweet Jesus That’s all I’m asking of You Just give me the strength to do everyday What I have to do God help me today Show me the way One day at a time
