Morning Mercies

Yesterday was hard! We cried many tears as we prayed and listened to Great is Thy Faithfulness. The sun is shining and like He promises, God’s mercies are new each morning. This morning our call revealed more encouraging news. They flipped mom yesterday to open her lungs and were able to lower her oxygen. She has been able to maintain this lower amount of oxygen through the night and even as they returned her to her back this morning. Additionally her kidney function continues to improve and her fever has come down. We are clinging to the hope the antibiotics are working and clearing other infections in mom’s body. SHE IS FIGHTING!

Mom’s Magnolia bible study brought us all prayer cards yesterday and flipping through God’s word is a comfort. His words remind us that when we hit our limits, this is when we learn to seek our limitless God. His way may take longer, but it’s the best way.

Our dear cousin Richard reminded us of Dolly Parton’s quote in Steel Magnolias. “Laughter through tears is one of the most important emotions.” This is exactly what we are doing. Clinging to each other in both the tears and the laughter.

  5. Our prayers continue for your sweet mom and we check this site each day to read ger progress. My heart is warmed at how this wonderful family circles around their mom during this time. I know God is holding all of you in the palm of his hand.
